Speaking to johntherock5.com this morning, he said: “The team has really done us all proud, it’s unfortunate the Chileans canceled the lead.
“We will build up from there and make sure we win our subsequent games to win our fans’ confidence back.
“It was a good game and I commend the playing body as well as the technical team for a splendid job done though some of us could not respond to the national call due to injury,” he added.
Locally-based substitute Richard Mpong, who came in for striker Dominic Oduro, who picked injury after 17 minutes grabbed the opener when he fired past goalkeeper Claudio Bravo four minutes to the end of the interval.
The Stars, however, failed to hold on to the slender lead and allowed the Chileans to pull even when Matias Fernandez converted a spot kick in the 75minutes.
Yesterday’s game was the Stars’ first game after their Nations Cup campaign.
